Solidity and discipline proved the key elements in Balham gaining a much needed win away to CB Hounslow, where Heathrow bound airplanes were almost within touching distance. As in their previous game, in midweek, Balham had to come from behind, having conceded midway through the first half on a counter attack after not being awarded a free kick that the linesman was flagging for. Knowing they were playing well however and with a feeling of injustice spurring them on they were soon back on level terms when Tomasz Wocial finished smartly having cut in from the left wing. Balham then took a deserved lead two minutes before half time when the in form, Jack Robinson, towered above the CB defence to head home from a corner. With rain having poured, almost incessantly, before the game and throughout the first half, an excellent playing surface was beginning to look unplayable in certain areas. Thankfully however, from a Balham perspective, it held out until the end, as did the team on the pitch, who put in a controlled second half performance to secure their second away win of the week.
