Balham’s Youth team were back at the scene of the First teams’ memorable 8-4 win against Bedfont Sports, forty-eight hours earlier, for this league game against Manorcroft Utd, who groundshare with the Combined Counties League club. The stadium proved to be a happy hunting ground again, although this was merely a five goal thriller rather than a bonkers twelve goal affair. As on Saturday Balham went behind early on, but goals from Ryan Kaou and birthday boy, Admir Ujkaj, gave Balham a deserved half time advantage. A harshly awarded penalty brought United level midway through an even second half, in which debutant keeper Kamal Nehaili made a couple of top saves. With the game heading for a draw however Balham launched a final attack. Kaou, having ridden a couple of tackle attempts, slipped the ball wide to Marlee Cooper who swung a curling left foot cross into the box, which was headed back across goal by Taryn Vancooten and stabbed home by Dom Simpson-Last.
