Firsts v Bedfont Sports 8-4

Balham produced one of their best performances of the season to end up putting eight goals past a somewhat bemused Bedfont Sports, who sit second in the league and are very much in contention for promotion. Not surprisingly the first goal in this net busting bonanza came very early on and it was the home team who stuck the first blow. Balham responded well however and two goals in relatively close succession gave them a lead at half time which the high quality of their football merited. This extraodinary game swung back in Bedfont’s favour after the break as Balham’s set piece achilles heel allowed them to equalise and then retake the lead. This was a double body blow, delivered with Anthony Joshua force, as the away side were playing some “sexy” football on the 3g carpet of a pitch. Balham didn’t feel sorry for themselves though, but instead raised the ante and not only came back again but blitzed, befuddled and bewildered Bedfont by bagging five unanswered goals in the final third of the game. Top scorer Ibrahim Olutade topped the goal charts with a hat trick, Arsen Ujkaj and James Adebayo each got a brace and Tomasz Wocial also chipped in with a penalty.
