Balham were in excellent form throughout against The Curfews, who arrived from Chertsey on the back of a big win the previous Saturday. Although, at 2-1, the final scoreline was close, the home side were good value for the victory, having popped the ball about in style for most of the game. A pearler curler from Dan David, who picked his spot from the edge of the box, gave Balham a first half lead. It was extended, in the second half, by top scorer Ibrahim Olutade, who netted a penalty. Chertsey then got a p.k themselves to halve the deficit and make it a nervier ending than it needed to be. Balham saw the game out well though and can be satisfied with their first points of the new year in their first game of it.
