Balham finished this game on a rare sunny Saturday afternoon knowing that they’d thrown two precious points away. Goals from Ibrahim Olutade, in the first half and Arsen Ujkaj, in the second, had put them very much in control. Having been solid defensively in recent games there seemed no way back for the home side, who had been dominated in all areas. Mistakes and lapses in concentration are a recipe for disaster however and although there were elements of bad luck in both goals conceded, especially the last minute equaliser, Balham kicked themselves all the way back to South London knowing that they should have done better and arrived back in SW12, ready to party at Thomas Fosse’s farewell, with three points in their pockets rather than one.
