Firsts v Horley 3-2

The home team started this game on the front foot creating chances and playing some great football. Some sloppy marking from a set piece corner was converted by the away team inside the first 20 mins of the game. Balham responded well with Adebayo hitting the post, the cross bar and making the Horley GK pull another couple of great saves out of his sleeves. With the score still 1-0 Frew leaped the highest and scored a well deserved equaliser from another corner. Balham again created more chances, including a missed penalty but again went behind nearing the end of the first half when Horley’s number 10 finished a move that was more a defensive error than a well crafted goal. The second half was a rampant display of attacking football from the home team where every blade of sodden grass and piece of sand was run on, and passed over. Olutade finished a fantastic through the thirds typical Balham goal worthy of levelling any game of football. The game was won with another fine move on the left side, with Wocial providing a peach of a cross for Ujkaj to finish neatly and get the game wrapped up.
