Balham produced one of their best performances of the season thus far in this Friday night Landlords v Tenants Derby at The Wibbandune, where both clubs groundshare. They started on the front foot and were good value for the seventeenth minute lead provided by “goal a game” Ibrahim Olutade. Wood responded well, immediately pressing Balham back and equalised, against the run of play, two minutes later. Although in shock Balham continued to play in the same way and were unlucky not to retake the lead before half time. They had two goals disallowed and restricted Wood to a paucity of chances. It wasn’t until Thomas Fosse came off the bench though, in the second half and scored after fifty-seven minutes that the Tenants finally regained the lead. From that moment on they remained in control and could have added to their total. The one goal margin sufficed at the end however and gave Balham the much needed three points that they very much deserved.
