Under 18 v Horley Town 7-0

The long journey to Horley proved well worthwhile as Balham put in a strong performance to run out comfortable winners in the first round of this season’s Grant McClellan Youth Cup, one of two cup competitions that they got to the semi finals of last season. They scored four goals in the first half with the outstanding Javier Aguilera netting twice. The others came from Andre Cruz Rosa and courtesy of an unfortunate own goal. Three more were added after the break with Dominic Simpson-Last, Sebastian Fallowfield and substitute Nabil Bakare scoring on his debut. Although the opposition offered very little threat Balham played some high quality, high tempo football and most pleasingly of all kept their first clean sheet of the season.
