Balham put on one of their most mature and best all round performances of the season to date in defeating a dangerous Redhill side. Outstanding centre back, Hamish Frew, gave the home side the lead when he rose like a salmon early in the game to head home a hanging Tomasz Wocial free kick. This gave Balham the spur they needed. They were both resolute in defence and creative going forward from that moment on, playing some classy controlled football. They might have won more comfortably were it not for some excellent saves from the Redhill keeper, especially in the second half. It wasn’t until midway into it that the lead was finally doubled and a cushion was created when Arsen Ujkaj scored from the penalty spot.
