This was a game of two halves. Balham played superbly for the first forty-five minutes and possibly could and should have been more than a goal to the good. Not surprisingly that goal was netted by Ibrahim Olutade, who continued his amazing run of one goal in every league game to date. The second half was a different story however with a revved up, determined Villa, scoring early and then, with tails up, bludgeoning their way into the ascendancy. Despite being under the cosh Balham still created a number of chances themselves but, at the final whistle, at the end of what had been a full blooded, fully committed contest, it seemed about right that the points were shared.
