Firsts v Bedfont Sports 2-4

Balham paid the price for starting this game in the wrong gear. By the time they woke up, early in the second half, when three changes were made, they were 3-0 down. They hadn’t been outplayed but were outworked and out fought. The changes, which saw Elliott Gibbs and Tijani Eshilokun make their first team debuts, had the desired effect and within ten minutes the scoreline was 3-2. Gibbs got the first, with a header direct from a corner before Ibrahim Olutade scored for the sixth consecutive game, which makes him second top scorer in the league. Balham pushed hard for an equaliser all the way to the end but were undone late on when they conceded a fourth which secured all three points for the still unbeaten Bedfont.
