FROM THE DUGOUT – 17 JANUARY

Our recent run of poor results continued at Abbey Rangers last Saturday. Every game that we’ve lost this season and there’s been too many for my liking has been a very close contest in which, for differing reasons, we’ve emerged pointless. Last weekend, as much as anything, it was down to bad luck. We dominated possession and created more chances than Abbey, but we hit the post and missed a couple of other very good opportunities. One could be critical of the finishing and possibly for not marking tight enough, for the late winning goal, however we didn’t do a lot wrong and looked compact throughout, so to do so would be harsh. This afternoon we welcome Redhill to The Wibbandune with whom we’ve had many good battles since coming into the CCL. I’m sure this afternoon will follow suit. May the best team win, as long as that’s Balham.
