MAKING HISTORY

CRAY FINAL

London FA history was made on May 9th by Nike Partner Club Balham FC from the Combined Counties Premier Division when they won the final of the London Senior Cup – the London FA’s foremost cup competition – at their first attempt.  This was also the first time a club had won the London FA’s Senior Trophy and then the Senior Cup in consecutive years, making it a unique double.

The London Senior Cup was first won by Upton Park in 1882. Although the leading professional sides in London no longer compete, the Cup has been won in the past by the likes of Arsenal, Brentford, Wimbledon and Barnet. The current champions are now Balham.

On their amazing journey to the final, “The Blazers” have beaten League One side AFC Wimbledon and semi-professional, Vanarama National League South, Dulwich Hamlet, plus Bostik Football League (previously Isthmian League) Premier Division play-off side, Hendon FC.
